Platform · Decision orchestration

A recommendation is not a decision until someone owns it.

Decision orchestration moves every recommendation from draft to measured. It routes it through review and approval by people independent of its author, turns approval into an action with an owner and a due date, and writes every step to a log that is never deleted.

01
Step / 01

Draft and scientific review

A recommendation enters as a draft with at least two alternatives, one of them doing nothing. It passes a scientific review before anyone is asked to approve it.

02
Step / 02

Independent approval

Approvers must be independent of the author. Approval creates an action with an owner, a due date, a rationale and its measurement contract.

03
Step / 03

Framed for each person

The chief of staff writes the decision for each person who approves, executes or measures it, and states which framing it used. Only the owner can mark the action done, with evidence.

04
Step / 04

A log that only grows

Every event is appended to the decision log and never deleted. When a readback lands far from the expected range, the chief of staff proposes a rule change for a person to approve.

The decision lifecycle

Six states, and every one recorded.

StateWhat happensWho
Draft

The recommendation, its alternatives and its measurement contract are written.

Signal and the analyst

Scientific review

Method and claim strength are checked before an approver sees it.

Decision scientist

Awaiting approval

Approvers independent of the author accept, reject or send it back.

Decision owners

Approved

An action is created with owner, due date and rationale.

The owner

Measuring

Treatment and control run until the readback date.

Signal

Measured

The effect is read back and logged. Large deviations become candidate rules.

Signal, then a person

In development: delivery through WhatsApp, email and Teams. Today actions are created, assigned and tracked inside Signal.
